What is AYB?

Alashanek Ya Balady is one of the biggest student activities in Egypt initiated and totally run by students who come from various universities, to share the experience for the sake of achieving the set goals. 

Why Abu Qarn?

“ABU-QARN” District is one of the most unprivileged areas in “AMR EBN-ELAS” region in “MASR EL-QADIMA”.

How many Programs are there? What are them ?

We have 7 programs and they are :
1. Charity
2. Educational Classes
3. Illiteracy Elimination
4. Youth Development
5. Micro Projects
6. Orphans' Care
7. Computer Knowledge

How many committees are there? What are them?

We have 8 Organizing Committees working for the sake of supporting the programs and fulfilling their requirements and they are :
1-Fund raising
2-Human Resources
3-Internal Public Relations
4-External Public Relations
5-Logistics
6-Publications
7-IT and Media
8-Reception

What is the history of AYB?

Alashanek Ya Balady (Ain Shams Universty) is replication of the successful model of AYB in the AUC , 5 years ago our founders initiated AYB asu in the aim of developing Abu Qarn district and the activity grew year by year and the number of Programs increased from 5 programs to 7 and  to ensure effectiveness the Organizing committees were born and at the year 2008 AYB reached it’s current structure .

Are there other AYB in Egypt?

Yes, AYB have another branch in the American , German and French Universty in cairo.

Do I have to be a member of AYB’s Programs or Organizing Committees to participate in AYB’s activities and campaigns?

AYB’s activities are opened for all who want to participate, anyone  can join as a volunteer if he missed the chance to be a member of AYB.

Is AYB considered a charitable activity?

AYB is a developmental  activity aims to enhance the living standards of Abu Qarn district by inquiring Abu Qarn residents in 7 developmental Programs , it is a fact that charity is one of our 7 Programs but it was made for the necessity ( Pre-development) of preparing Abu Qarn residents to the other developmental Programs  and it is doesn’t reflect the real nature of AYB’s work.

How can i join AYB?

You can join AYB through our annual recruitment campaigns. Every year AYB has two recruitment campaigns, one for recruiting Organizing Committees’ members and the other to recruit Developmental Programs’ members. 
Also You can register your personal information on the website as a volunteer and an e-mail will be sent to you before AYB events to inform you by the kind of support needed in the event.
