Alashanek Ya Balady is one of the biggest student activities in Egypt initiated and totally run by students who come from various universities, to share the experience for the sake of achieving the set goals.
 The spirit of volunteerism pushes the campaign into success. Nobody expects anything in return to what he does. We believe it’s our duty towards community. This is where our passion stems from.
We are Egyptian youth who wants to do something for his country and community; we believe that development will not only affect the Egyptian community but also shape our personalities and conceptions.
Because we believe we have something to offer; because we believe it is our duty to reduce the pain of the less fortunate in our society; we will do our best to build the path we dreamt of one day; the path for a better country.

 AYB is interested in developmental projects where the development process is held in 2 trends.

The First Trend  is mainly concerned with developing our beloved country Egypt, and as a start AYB chose Abu Qarn district – one the most unprivileged areas in Egypt.
Since 2004 and till now AYB has been working inside Abu Qarn district through 7 Programs which all aim to the development of Abu Qarn’s Residents.
As we all know, you can`t ask someone to develop his way of life or change into a better person without providing him with the basic needs of life meaning shelter , food , clean water and money.
Those basic needs are what some of the programs aim to provide (Pre development programs) so as to create a suitable channel through which other Programs can achieve development.

And these Programs are:

4. Youth Development
5. Micro Projects
6. Orphans' Care
7. Computer Knowledge

The Second Trend is the development of AYB crew’s skills and capabilities. The crew which consists of more than 350 students from various colleges is given specific exercises to help perform the required tasks more effectively.
